AN UNFAIR WORLD

A great deal of wealth is created in the world as a whole but have you ever stopped to think about how this is distributed and who decides who gets what?

Imagine for one moment the population of the world divided up into ten equal numbers of people. Each group of about 650,000 will have a different slice of the total amount of wealth created as follows:

And where, exactly, in the world do these different groups of people live? The map below gives you a very rough idea:

The map is not wholly accurate because the wealth bands have been drawn to follow country boundaries. Also there will be great disparities in wealth within countries. For example, millionnaires will be found in the the poorest countries of Africa as well as the United States and Europe. Also pockets of poverty can be found in the very richest countries.

We know that some countries are situated in parts of the world where harsh natural environments and poor weather conditions contribute to peoples poverty but is this the whole story and should there be such differences in wealth around the world.
What would be the implications if everyone in the world were to have the same average standard of living as people living in riches 10% group?.
